Community Service Reminder

🚮GET INVOLVED! As a FLEX student, you’re required to complete 25 hours of community engagement during your exchange year. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn about your community, and make a positive impact!

Ask your liaison or Cluster Coordinator for ideas and remember to track your hours as you go.

Risky Activity Reminder

🚫Know the Rules: Prohibited Activities
For your safety, FLEX students may not drive or ride in certain motorized vehicles, including cars, ATVs/UTVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, e-bikes, and motorized scooters. Students also may not fly an aircraft or ride as a passenger in a private plane.

When in doubt, ask your AFS liaison or FLEX Specialist before participating in an activity.

International Travel Request Reminder

✈️ International Travel While on Program
FLEX students may not travel internationally while on program unless they receive prior approval (and in very exceptional circumstances). International travel requires coordination with AFS and the appropriate program authorities, and students should not make travel plans or purchase tickets before receiving approval.
